Add Your First Website

Alright, let’s go over how to add your first website, okay? So in the previous videos we have added a network, a client and integrated our analytics. Okay, so now we got everything we need done to add a first website.

So I’m in the dashboard and I’ll click New Website over in the right hand side, okay. Let’s name it demo.piwik.org since this is what I used in the analytics example and I’m going to choose that when I select my analytics integration. Alright, URL, oops, I totally did that wrong because I’m a little bit sleepy right now. Piwik Demo. In Category, I’m going to — I’ll just call it a Forum because they have a forum on here. Actually, no, they do a forum so Piwik Forum and yeah. Hosting, just select SEH Hosting. You can add new one, you can add a new category as well. Don’t worry about the IP Address thing. That’s just for a future report that we’re going to work on.

Network, if you were already viewing one of the networks of clients then it would automatically put it in here so you don’t have to select it but I did this from the dashboard so I’m going to select it. So I’m going to put this in Mortgage Loans Network and let’s see, Analytics Integration, I’m going to select my Piwik Demo account that I setup and then it’s going to load these sites that are available. The first site, I’m going to pick this, Piwik Forums and you can see it puts a site ID in there. This is not a final version. We can clean out, these are going to phase a little bit so it’s less confusing. Obviously, Property Code and Profile ID are meant for Google Analytics so there’s no reason to show those if I select a Piwik thing. Anyway, but it gets the job done as of now, that’s the most important thing.

So we’ve added this website, Piwik Forum and I’m not sure if the analytics data, yeah, it hasn’t showed up yet. Usually it takes about like 30 seconds or something for it to pull that data in. Yeah, I’m going to pause this and refresh it.

Alright, so it’s about 20 seconds and you can see the analytics data has been imported and this will continue to update so you don’t have to go look at your analytics anymore for a visitor account at least.

Alright, let’s go over quickly how to integrate an analytics profile with your SEHabitat account, so you can see things like visitors and stuff in you reports. So I’m at the dashboard, going over here to the top right, the Settings tab and click on General. Scroll all the way to the bottom and then still place at the bottom, Analytics Profiles Link your third party analytics tracking accounts.
Alright, and on this page, you will see in the future a list of all analytics profiles that you have authorized on this account. So let’s go ahead and click Add Profile. And I’m going to use Piwik analytics platform in this demo video. In the future I’m going to add a Google Analytics demo video but Piwik is the one that’s a little more complicated to use anyway. So you should have no problem linking your analytics account. With that said, I still want to make a video on it as soon as I get a demo account setup.

Alright, so in description, let’s just put Piwik Demo Account and in Service choose Piwik. By the way, as I’ve mentioned before, if you have another analytics platform you like to use besides these two, then let me know because we can probably get it integrated pretty quickly for you, alright? And go ahead and click Create Profile. So now that profile is created and we got to authorize it, okay.
Now Piwik is just here, you add your stuff here. With Google Analytics, it takes you to a Google page then ask you to confirm and then it’s done, it’s all automatic so you don’t have to like enter URLs or anything. So anyway, I’m going to go ahead and put in just like in the example text below, demo.piwik.org and for the API Auth Token, it’s anonymous. Let’s go ahead and click Add Token. And you’ll see, you successfully authorized your SEHabitat to access your Piwik Analytics Data.

Alright, so in the next video or one of the next videos, I’ll show you how to add your first website and then I’m going to hook up the analytics profile to that website and so we will have the visitor data showing there, okay?
