Now like I said earlier, it really becomes a matter of once you know what needs to be done, it’s what needs to come first, right? And too many times I see people getting caught up with details such as simply don’t matter at the beginning. You know like if you’re starting out with an idea, your goal should be to go out there and either invalidate or validate your idea, nothing else matters, right? There’s no point in setting up social media accounts for Spoil until we’ve gone out and spoken to people and figured out whether or not they actually care for what Spoil offers. Do you see what I mean?
So placing the horse before the cart makes sense but placing the cart before the horse doesn’t makes sense because how is your cart going to be forward, your horse needs to be in front of the cart. So because doing everything equates to doing nothing, it’s really important to pay attention to the order in which you choose to do things as this is one of the key areas that you can optimize, right? Because as much as your idea is good and you can control that, it’s an impulsive thing. It will just pop up in your head. So you can’t really control it. Your execution you can control.
Luck is a factor that you cannot control, so if you can go about controlling how well you execute, that’s the only thing that will really matter because it’s the only thing that you can control. So you should be doing everything in your power to make sure that the things that you do control makes sense and that they actually end up adding value to what you’re doing.
So if you’re building a portfolio of websites for example, hiring an assistant on day one is most certainly placing the cart before the horse, right? You should be going out, setting up the Word Press yourself, putting together the research, putting in the time to figure out what niche you want to be part of, figure out the sub niches you want to be part of, figure out your monetization, do all of these things yourself, then go out and prove the business yourself. You have a lot of value to your business because you are the person that has the most amount of insight in it. So you are the person that actually is in the best position to move your business towards success.
Once you go out there and you’ve proven your business yourself, it makes sense for you to scale by getting an assistant to do the things that you’ve been doing so that you can go out there and get the next get and the next win, right? So do things in order that makes sense.
