So first things first: Installing a WordPress theme. In this course, we are going to use the Ultimate Authority Pro theme. Follow this quick guide and learn how to install and activate the theme in your WordPress website.
Let’s get started!
Step 1:
Log in to your WordPress admin panel. Once there, go to Appearance >> Themes.
Step 2:
From there, you will see all the WordPress themes you have installed in your application. If you want to add a new one, simply click on the Add New tab.
Step 3:
There are two ways for you to add a new theme. You can choose to a.) use the search bar which will return results from the WordPress theme directory; or b.) upload a theme from your local hard drive. In this tutorial, I’m going to show you the latter, which is uploading the Ultimate Authority Pro theme.
Provided you already downloaded the theme, click on the Upload Theme tab found at the top of the page.
Step 4:
Next, click the Choose File button. From your local computer, select the Ultimate Authority Pro theme’s archive, and then press the Install Now button. WordPress will then upload and extract the theme for you.
NOTE:
When uploading the Ultimate Authority Pro theme, DO NOT upload the main package (zip file) that says Ultimate Authority Theme (package). Instead, click on the folder and unzip the ultimate-authority-pro.1.0.1 file. This is the actual theme file that you’re going to upload.
Step 5:
Once the theme is installed, go ahead and click on Activate under the message for successful theme installation.
You’re done! Now, you’ve successfully installed the Ultimate Authority Pro theme to get you started with your first affiliate review site. You can go to your site’s front end to see the newly activated theme.
